Leonora House day care and activity groups
Older people
Our group for people aged 50 and above meets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Members choose which activities they want to take part in during the morning. Examples of activities we offer include bingo, dominoes, word games and reminiscence sessions. In the afternoon we offer chair exercises or gentle yoga classes with a trained instructor. We often organise parties to mark special occasions throughout the year.
At lunchtime members can enjoy a hot two course meal for a small cost of £3.50. Members discuss with staff what they would like to eat and then we prepare the food fresh on-site. Tea, coffee and biscuits are freely available all day.
Younger adults with physical disabilities
Our group for younger adults with physical disabilities meets on Mondays and Thursdays. In the morning we run activities such as arts and crafts, working with clay, group discussions or film screenings. The members of the group choose what they would like to do each morning. In the afternoon we offer chair exercises or gentle yoga classes with a trained instructor. We also like to organise parties and celebrations to mark special events.
Members of the group bring their own lunch along, but tea and coffee is freely available throughout the day.
